24/7 Individual Pet Cremation Services
Peter opened what was then 'Firtree Pet Crematorium' about 5 years ago and during all those years his care to all the pets and their owners was second to none. He had an amazing relationship with his customers and had the upmost respect for their feelings during such a difficult time. He was always prepared to move above and beyond to help them in their time of need.
Peter was also a devoted husband, Father and friend. We all miss him terribly and love him very much.
Our promise to him is to take care of his legacy and work in exactly the same way to run things the way he did.
"We promise you won't be forgotten and to make you proud Peter". xxx
We were originally a boarding Kennels and Cattery run by the crematorium founder, Peter Bryan's wife Amanda Bryan.
Due to sudden changes in legislation many years ago, Amanda decided to close down the kennels and cattery side and focus on pet grooming school, which is where Amanda's true love lies.
Being a family of avid pet lovers and owners, it was through losing their own pet/working cocker spaniel that inspired them to setup the pet crematorium to offer dog and cat and all pet cremation, which is best described in Amanda's own words:
"We lost Charlie, our pet-working cocker. He was an integral part of our family endorsing him as a family member. He grew up with the children. He was their best mate and had been the most loyal friend to myself and Peter my husband.
Charlie had been poorly for a while and although we spared no expense with the very best vet care, his time came.
It was an emergency situation (a weekend) and we had to drive over to the vet. Charlie went to sleep with me holding him and talking to him.
But what we thought, " what happens next"? Do we bury him - NO - we wanted his ashes, so if we ever moved, he would come with us.
So it was organised through the vets there and then that he would stay with them until the crematorium collected, which was the following Thursday and then he would not return until the Thursday after when they dropped off and collected again!
It didn’t make us happy as we really wanted him home, but what choice did we have?
The same thing happened again with Lillian, our seal point Siamese family member. I asked if we could do things privately and have her back sooner, but this was not on the agenda.
I thought this situation was awful, that people just want their babies back home - they don’t want to think of them in a freezer at the vets for almost a week - 10 days or longer. This is when we first began looking at offering our community an affordable and fast turnaround service at a time when they needed sympathy and help.
So that's how we found ourselves involved with pet cremations and helping those who had lost a family member - and so it began - the Pet Crematorium started, with our aim being to collect as soon as you require and bring your pet back here for a private and individual service.
Once the service is completed your pets ashes are brought home or collected by you as quickly as possible, in a beautiful wooden casket.
Ensuring you are re-united with your family member at the soonest time
We are of course open to ideas, if an owner wanted a scatter tube or something special like their pets favourite blanket wrapped around them before service took place we are happy to listen and happy to try to give the service you require, because lets face it, they are part of your family and you know what made them happy!
After such poor service in the past, we have planned for the passing of our blue point Siamese family member, who is named Eccles (after the area, yes) he is photographed on here a few times - he is the boss! We plan to have his ashes placed in a bio pot in which we will also plant a sapling or seed of a weeping willow tree. This will then be planted in the garden where he was born and where he played all his life, where he flopped down in the garden on. a sunny day surveying his entire kingdom.
Why a weeping willow tree, you ask… we believe that every time we look at the majestic life that has grown from his ashes in the place he was happy, we will smile and remember him surveying all his kingdom as will the tree then. Eccles will never sit in a freezer for any amount of time, his farewell will be as dignified and cared for as his life was.
"Shouldn’t we all have those choices with our animal family members?"

Jake is the original founders (Peter) son.
He hopes to fulfil Peters legacy by keeping the same values that Peter started out with and listening to pet mums and dads when they tell him what it is they need.
He has a long history of animal care and can categorically say he is fully aware of the feelings you will experience when you suffer the loss of your pet. His aim is to make things as easy as possible by ensuring your pets come home to you as promptly as physically possible.
Since the passing of Peter he has assumed the role of main carer of the family property which is no easy task when you are stepping into the shoes of a master builder and perfectionist.
He states, "I will do my best to ensure that I can meet your expectations, we are a very small operation, specialising only in individual cremations. Visits to our site and collection and delivery are by appointment only to avoid any disappointment".
Family is important and those who are not born family but become family on the journey are too. Lisa is Jakes go to he trusts her like a sister. Lisa will come and collect your baby from home or the vet and bring t hem home to us to carry out their service.
Lisa is a great nature lover, having spent a lifetime surrounded by her own animals and preferring their company to most human!
Her compassion and ability to empathise with people in mourning of their pet will give you comfort in knowing your fur baby or not so fur baby, (because we know some of our beloved pets have feathers and skin) will be cared for with the love and dignity you would wish for.
The pet crematorium was born from the personal experience that back then there wasn't anywhere for individual pet cremation in Manchester, so peters (the founder) wife suggested to him to create somewhere for all pet cremation not just cat and dog cremation in Manchester, somewhere that our local community in Greater Manchester can trust, to leave their pets afterlife care, whatever the species, for a beautiful loving, personal and speedy service that was individual and all about the pet. Lisa & Jacob carry this legacy out to a T, These are the founding principles and these are the rules they work by.
